The best way to get certified to handle food is through the SafeCheck® Advanced Food Safety course. This course will give you all of the information you need to understand proper food handling procedures so you can ensure the food you serve is safe for public consumption. You can earn your certification in as few as six hours.
The SafeCheck® Advanced Food Safety course is Canada’s preferred food handler certification course. We have helped thousands of Canadians effectively earn their food handler certification.
In order to pass the Food Handler Certification exam, learners must obtain a score of 70% or higher, although they have unlimited attempts to pass the online exam.
The SafeCheck® advanced Canadian food handling course is valid in all Canadian provinces and territories for five years from the date of issue.
The food safety course includes ten informative lessons on proper food handling procedures and food safety topics, a practice quiz, and an online final exam. Throughout the course, participants can take advantage of informative food safety course materials, over 60 resources and videos, a fully narrated interactive presentation, and informative posters for food premises. Please note that a valid photo ID must be used to obtain the correct certificates.
The safe food handling temperature danger zone is a temperature range where bacteria grow the quickest. Those who consume food stored in this danger zone for long periods are at a greater risk of food poisoning or foodborne illness.
The industry-standard food temperature danger zone is between 4°C (40°F) and 60°C (140°F).
Food can be safely stored between 4°C (40°F) and 60°C (140°F) for a maximum of two hours. Food stored in this danger zone for longer than two hours should be discarded.
