Who should take the SafeCheck™ Advanced Food Safety Certification or the Training Achievement Program (Online Training)?

Anyone who prepares, handles, serves, or manufactures food.
This course is not only for people working within the food services industry, but anyone who handles food: EVERYONE. Food safety is imperative in handling all food, this course will provide individuals with safe practices and procedures that are relevant not only in the food services industry, but within the home.

How can I pay for the training courses?

VISA, Mastercard, Paypal – when registering online, Cheque, Money Order, Exact Cash
To avoid additional charges payment must be made BEFORE the course date.

When will I receive my results from the training course?

3-4 weeks after the exam you will receive a digital copy via email
4-5 weeks after the exam you will receive a hardcopy via Canada Post

What if I need my results sooner?

2 business day “Confirmation Letter” Confirmation letter includes: participant’s name and address course date exam number grade achieved Confirmation letter will be sent via email within 2 business days after the seminar date Service fee applies.

What if I fail the exam?

You will be notified via letter sent through Canada Post.
The course needs to be retaken. A discounted rate is offered due to unsuccessful completion.

Is there GST ontop of the prices?

There is no GST on top of the prices of the training seminars because they are educational.
All other services are subject to GST.

What is the difference between the SafeCheck™ Advanced Food Safety Certification seminar and the SafeCheck™ Frontline – Food Safety Basics seminar?

The SafeCheck™ Frontline – Food Safety Basics seminar is an entry level Food Safety Course. The seminar provides basic information on food handling. This is not a certification course. The SafeCheck™ Advanced Food Safety Certification seminar is a recognized training course in Food Sanitation and Hygiene by the Minster of Health under Section 31 of the Alberta Public Health Act Food Regulation.

Online Training (Training Achievement Program – TAP)

Is the TAP course recognized by the government?

This online Food Safety Manager’s computer based training program is accepted in over 130 regulatory jurisdictions, including Alberta.
TAP is a recognized training course in Food Sanitation and Hygiene by the Minster of Health under Section 31 of the Alberta Public Health Act Food Regulation.

Who can take the TAP online training?

Anyone: once registered for the seminar, you will note the seminar is labeled as Food Safety Manager Certification Training; however this does not mean that the seminar is only for managers. This seminar is available for all food handlers and is a recognized training course in Food Sanitation and Hygiene by the Minster of Health under Section 31 of the Alberta Public Health Act Food Regulation.
The TAP online training is equivalent to the SafeCheck™ Advanced Food Safety Certification seminar, the only difference between the two is the manner of presentation.

Will I receive the same certification and the same knowledge if I take the course online versus in the classroom?

Yes, the TAP seminar and the SafeCheck™ Advanced Food Safety Certification provide the same knowledge and the same certification.
The only difference between the seminars is the manner in which they are presented. TAP – completely online (with the exception of a paper and pencil exam at the end) SafeCheck™ Advanced Food Safety Certification – lectures and discussion in class

How long do I have to complete the online course?

6 months
After 6 months the seminar expires
After the seminar has expired the participant will have to repurchase the course is he/she wishes to complete the course
